Project Scope

 

Lai Chi Wo Pier

It is proposed that the length of Lai Chi Wo Pier increases from 64 m to 155 m, and the widths of the access and pier head increases from 2.5 m to 6 – 8 m and 15 m respectively. The proposed design also includes new pier facilities such as the consideration of floating platforms, barrier-free facilities, prefabrication design, provision of Wi-Fi facility, the use of renewable energy and facilities for greener vessels.

 

Tung Ping Chau Public Pier

The proposed Pier will be a piled deck structure. The structure will extend the existing pier head by 26m towards the sea. Its width ranges from 5.5m to 6m, and increased to a gross width of 15m (including the floating pontoon) at the pier head. It will consist of a floating pontoon and a gangway for barrier-free access, and PV panels if applicable.

 

The main scope of the Project comprises:
  1. Carrying out site investigation works for detailed design;
  2. Provision of temporary piers and interim berthing arrangements during the construction phase;
  3. Modification of the existing piers and construction of new pier structures;
  4. Construction of associated facilities such as barrier-free access, canopy, seats, and landscaping works, etc.; and
  5. Removal of the temporary piers after the completion of all improvement works.
